As you know I sometimes like to focus on campaigns that fly under the radar. Well that is happening right now in the state of Idaho. First of all there are not that many competitive state legislative primaries to begin with in Idaho, but on Tuesday Constitution Party members of District 1 for State Senate will be voting in a primary for their candidate.
Constitution Party members Christian Fioravanti and Jack Mervin are jockeying for the nomination to face the winner of the Republican Primary. This primary is so heated because....
There are only 73 Constitution Party Members in district, I wouldn't be surprised if there are less than 10 people who vote in this election. This district however is the 4th largest district in terms of CP registration with District 25 being first at 267 CP registrants.
Judging that Fioravanti actually has a website and Mervin doesn't and that Fioravanti has received media coverage days that Fioravanti is probably the front-runner for the nomination. If anyone wants to see a true "battle of the conservatives" it would be this primary.
Both Constitution Party and non-affiliated voters will be allowed to vote in this primary.
